PIERLUIGI MICHELI: LAICO CIOE’ CRISTIANO – A. Nocent

 Pontevico si trova nella Pianura Bresciana Centrale ai confini col Cremonese sulla sinistra del fiume Oglio. Il nome di Pontevico deriva “pons vici” ponte del vico (villaggio): un primo gruppo di abitazioni costituitosi attorno al ponte sull’Oglio che, in passato, si trovava nella parte inferiore del paese, detta Borgo. Pontevico sorge sulle rive del fiume Oglio ed ebbe importanza strategica fin dall’antichità nella transazione delle merci per Brescia provenienti dal Po.  

Sino al secondo dopoguerra il paese era abitato in prevalenza da contadini e le principali feste locali erano di carattere religioso.Oggi Pontevico non è più un paese solo agricolo e molte sono le industrie, fonti di maggiore ricchezza economica. Questa trasformazione ha dato origine a nuove tradizioni.  

 

PIERLUIGI MICHELI laico, cioè cristiano

Pierluigi Micheli nasce  a Pontevico, in provincia di Brescia, il 27 Ottobre 1913, da Alfredo, ingegnere ed Elvira Annovati, donna che assumerà un ruolo determinante  e di grande rilievo nella vita del figlio per la perdita del marito nel 1917 durante la Prima Guerra Mondiali, quando il loro bambino ha appena quattro anni.

(Per una strana coincidenza, mentre Pierluigi perde il papà al fronte, nello stesso anno Erminio (San Riccardo Pampuri) perde un fratello in quella maledetta guerra alla quale dovrà prendere parte l’anno successivo).

La mamma, donna austera  e di antico casato, dedica al figlio ogni attenzione e tra i due s’ingenera un profondo legame ed un rapporto confidenziale che influirà  in modo determinato su Pierluigi, suscitando il lui un forte senso del dovere, dei solidi princìpi ma anche una fede incrollabile. Elvira sarà una presenza costante ed un sostegno fino al suo ultimo giorno di vita, ossia fino al 1955.

Dell’infanzia di Pierluigi e delle vicende familiari poco è dato di sapere. E’ ancora bambino quando esprime il desiderio di diventare medico. La tradizione familiare lo avrebbe voluto militare ma, grazie alla madre e al Conte Zio, figura accanto a lei, il ragazzo il ragazzo sarà appoggiato nella sua aspitazione anche perchè lo stufio della medicina non era del tutto nuovo nella tradizione di famiglia. A confermarlo è una pergamena conservata.: fu un suo avo, certo Pietro Angelo Annovati di Vercelli, ad esercitare il mestiere di “fondachiere“.  Nel documento infatti, così si legge: “…date le opportune sufficienti prove della sua intera coizione e perixia nelle droghe medicinali, …in virtù dell’autorità delle Regie Costituzioni conferitaci, abbiamo permesso, e permettiamo al detto Signor Pietro Angelo Annovati di esercitare la suddetta professione di fondachiere in tutti gli stati di S. M….Dato in torino li ventisette del mese di Giugno 1755“. 

Ma già uno dei suoi zii, proprio il Conte Zio di cui sopra, era medico. E’ evidente, dunque,  che nessuno ha potuito distrarre  dalla sua aspirazione il giovane Pierluigi che per tutta la vita, fino all’ultimo respiro, avvertirà il fascino di questa “vocazione”.

Le notizie sulla sua giovinezza sono carenti ma spiccano, tuttavia,  i brillanti studi liceali presso il collegio Villoresi-San Giuseppe di Monza. Essi sono documentati da un attestato di merito dell’anno scolastico 1927-28 ma anche da un aneddoto simpatico e rivelatore. Prento dal volume di Andrea Martano “Pierluigi Micheli medico umanista”: ” Pierluigi, infatti, era studente a tal punto meritevole da essere incaricato di sostituire i docenti mancanti nelle classi inferiori alla sua. Che la sua giovinezza e le qualità umane già allora affascinassero chi lo ascoltava non riesce affatto inatteso”.

Se Pierluigi, in mezzo ai contrasti del suo tempo, raggiungerà una piena formazione umana  attraverso gli studia humanitatis, una parte di merito va attribuito anche alla Famiglia dalla quale ha certamente ereditato il sottile gusto per l’arte e la letteratura, di cui in casa spesso si discuteva.

In carenza di documentazione del Villoresi di allora, (stranamente nell’archivio d’istituto manca proprio il suo fascicolo personale) credo che sia utile rendersi conto dell’attuale tensione ducativa  che caratterizza il Villoresi di oggi per convincersi che, se anche i tempi si evolvono, quando lo spirito dei Fondatori si tramanda,  c’è il filo rosso della continuità, leggibile oggi sul sito [ http://www.collegiovilloresi.it/ ] e testimoniata fedelmente dal risultato educativo dell’alunno Micheli Pierluigi che conserverà nel corso degl’anni l’impronta ricevuta  nel periodo della formazione. 

Il collegio Villoresi – San Giuseppe di Monza

 Il Martano, anche lui sul momento a corto di notizie, è costretto a saltare gli anni universitari e portarsi al 1937, anno della sua laurea: “Daltra parte, fu da quella data che ai preesistenti talenti dell’uomo si aggiuse il mestiere, cosa che lo ha reso ulteriormente degno di memoria“.  

Giovane laureato dalla promettente carriera, è conteso dai primari del tempo che lo vorrebbero al loro seguito. Di uno solo manterrà viva e partecipata  memoria nella vita: quella del professor Donato, chirurgo che lo volova chirurgo. Ma Perluigi che vive la professione come una missione, sente il bisogno di spazi più ampi e vuole essere al servizio di tutti e così opta per l’esercizio della medicina generale. Non per questo viene meno il legame  con il chirurgo. Anzi.

Ma per il Donati si avvicinano giorni burrascosi e Pierluigi deve assistere, impotente, alla sua dolorosa  e forzata separazione provocata dalle misure antisemitiche, applicate dal 1938 anche in Italia. Il Donati, impedito ad esercitare la sua professione,  è costretto ad espatriare in America Latina. Fortunatamente Pierluigi potrà riabracciarlo ma soltanto a guerra finita, quando farà ritorno in Italia.  

Se questa è una parentesi malinconica, essa non è l’unica.  Precedentemente Pierluigi è chiamato avivere un’altra pagina dolorosa ed emblematica: egli viene colpito subito dopo la laurea da una preoccupante malattia che sembra non dargli scampo e lo costringe a ritirarsi  a San Vigilio, presso i frati.  Ma Dio lo chiama per altri sentieri e, ritrovata progressivamente la salute, può tornare alla sua attività tanto amata.  

Sulle sue eccellenti doti di medico, la testimonianza è corale ed è altresì provata da numerosi biglietti e lettere di ogni genere, piene di fratitudine ed affetto: Di lui hanno sempre colpito, a cominciare dallo scrivente, rincipalmente due cose:

  • la formidabile capacità diagnostica
  • ed  una  spiccata sensibilita (espressione certamente riduttiva)

San Vigilio

 Il 1947 e precisamente il 4 Aprile, segna una svolta nella sua vita: Pierluigi conosce Augusta e proprio in un ospedale  di Milano, la Casa di Cura Igea dove lei assisteva una cugina malata, in cura proprio dal Dr. Pierluigi. Passata l’emergenza, i due non si vedranno fino al febbraio del 1948, quando lui si recherà a far visita alla paziente, ormai ristabilita.

Il 10 Luglio 1948 li vediamo sposi nella Cappella privata dei Cavalieri del Santo Sepolcro, in Piazza San Simpliciano, a Milano. Ma qui il Martano che ha ricevuto tante confidenze è costretto a concludere rassegnato: ” Ma questa è un’altra storia e resta sospesa fra piacevoli parentesi del nostro personaggio di inizio estate“.
